I don't have to explain to a music lover why song lyrics can be so powerful. For some reason, rhymed verse in combination with music just pierces your heart and connects at a deeper level than almost anything else can.
This post comes after I found, much to my amazement, that I had 48 songs that I had personally written available on my website. More amazing still, I suppose, is that I have another 20 songs just sitting on my computer - ready to be uploaded, or used elsewhere.
I don't claim to be a master songmaster. In fact, I can count my favorites on one hand. Still, I'm just happy that I found this outlet for my thoughts and emotions, when short stories or blog entries just don't cut it.
68 songs... hmm, that's almost enough to publish in a book...

oh cool... I like some poetry, but it has to be well crafted and have a definate theme. Mostly, I like poetry that could easily be crafted into a song :-D
I can read songs just fine, but poetry is harder for me. I don't know why.
